It’s time to ask God to stretch you and give you a bigger vision and bigger dream for your life. If you’re like me, it is time to update your vision board or dream board!! On the other hand, you may still be standing and believing God so you can receive your blessing! Or this may not have been your best year, and you are barely hanging on!! Wherever you are in life, now is the time to dream again…dream about all the possibilities that could happen this coming year if you would just dare to dream again and ask God to help you make those dreams come to pass. If you’re standing or barely standing, Praise God!! Praise Him because you’re still standing! Satan may have hit you with his best shot but you are still here!! That alone should be an indicator that God created you to win! Don’t give up – try one more time! Proverbs 24:16 says, “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again.”
If you are willing to get up one more time and stand for as long as it takes to see your dream and vision come to pass so you can walk in victory, you will not have to stand very long!! So pull up your courage and keep standing on the Word of God! You will see victory if you just don’t quit!! Keep moving! Keep trusting God, and believing His Word! And remember, God’s done all he’s going to do! It’s your move!! Take a step of faith to move spiritually – go to the next level! Take a step of faith in your finances – begin tithing to your local church, the place where you are fed spiritually; or increase the amount of your giving and expect a bigger harvest of increase. Take a step of faith to receive healing in your body or start a fitness program and eating plan to become healthier. Take a step of faith to create new relationships. Whatever you do, decide to move and don’t stay where you are right now!
I’m reminded of the four lepers that sat outside the gate of the city in 2 Kings 7:3-9. I would like you to look at your life and ask yourself the same question the lepers asked themselves. “Now there were four men with leprosy sitting at the entrance of the city gates. “Why should we sit here waiting to die?” they asked each other. 4 “We will starve if we stay here, but with the famine in the city, we will starve if we go back there. So we might as well go out and surrender to the Aramean army. If they let us live, so much the better. But if they kill us, we would have died anyway.” 5 So at twilight they set out for the camp of the Arameans. But when they came to the edge of the camp, no one was there! 6 For the Lord had caused the Aramean army to hear the clatter of speeding chariots and the galloping of horses and the sounds of a great army approaching. “The king of Israel has hired the Hittites and Egyptians to attack us!” they cried to one another. 7 So they panicked and ran into the night, abandoning their tents, horses, donkeys, and everything else, as they fled for their lives. 8 When the men with leprosy arrived at the edge of the camp, they went into one tent after another, eating and drinking wine; and they carried off silver and gold and clothing and hid it. 9 Finally, they said to each other, “This is not right. This is a day of good news, and we aren’t sharing it with anyone! If we wait until morning, some calamity will certainly fall upon us. Come on, let’s go back and tell the people at the palace.”
From this passage, you see that God is drawn to movement! When the lepers decided to move, God moved! He sent a host of angels to go before them and scare the enemy’s army, causing them to flee and leave everything for the lepers and Israel’s army. I venture to say, it will be the same with you when you decide to get up and take that step of faith to move!! What seems overwhelming and unconquerable now, will be easily conquered when you take that step of faith and get started! So, let me ask you a couple questions…why are you doing what you are doing? Why have you set the goals and plans you have chosen? You probably know what you want to do and how you want to do it, but have you taken the time to determine WHY you want to do what you’re planning to do – or what you are doing right now?
Let’s clarify what I mean when I say, “your WHY.” Your WHY is simply your purpose, your cause, or your belief. Most people think, act, or communicate from the outside in – from their WHAT to their WHY. And for good reason—they go from the clearest thing in their mind to the fuzziest thing in their mind. They say WHAT they do, they sometimes say HOW they do it, but they rarely say WHY they do WHAT they do.
If you want to inspire others to get involved with your WHY – which is your purpose or vision – you must inspire them from the inside out. When you start with WHY you do what you do, it is irrelevant with what you do. People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it. This is why it’s important to have a clear vision statement and mission statement; not only for your business, but you personally and for your family.
Allow God to stretch you right now to dream about your WHY and then take a step of faith and move! He will meet you as you move toward your dreams and goals. And remember, God created you to live a victorious life and He has more on His mind for your today!
